Dance/Movement Therapy

Dance/movement therapy (DMT) is a form of psychotherapy that uses movement to enhance overall well-being.  DMT acknowledges that the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected, and changes in one area can affect the others.  Movement is utilized to support self-expression, communication, and psychological development. It’s a unique approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy by incorporating the language of movement into the healing process.

In Dance/Movement Therapy, therapists use both nonverbal and verbal communication to understand and address emotional, social, cognitive, and physical aspects of an individual.
