About Jennifer

Welcome! My name is Jennifer Lyons, MA, PLPC (she/her/hers), and I am so glad you are here. With my background and experience working with diverse clients, I aim to create a safe space where you feel understood and supported. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, or this is your first time. I will meet you where you are with curiosity, non-judgment, and with your goals in mind. I have always been interested in why people do what they do and find purpose in walking alongside clients as they find their footing. Life can be challenging, and I know firsthand the freedom that can come from working with a therapist to understand ourselves, others, and the world around us.

I work with individuals ages 14 and up, parents, and couples who are stuck in patterns of thought and behavior that no longer serve them. I have have experience with adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, suicidal ideation, and inpatient and residential eating disorder treatment centers. If you or your loved ones are facing similar challenges, I invite you to get in touch to discuss how I may support you.

I incorporate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Existentialism, and MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My goal is to help you align your actions with your goals. It may sound simple, but I understand it's not always easy. If you're here, you're seeking support to navigate life's challenges and find joy in the journey. I am here to help you through that process.

If you are struggling with parenting challenges, are a high school or college student with anxiety, addiction, disordered eating, or want a better relationship with food and body, or a couple feeling stuck in the same patterns, please reach out for a 15-minute complimentary consultation to see how I may help.

I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) in the State of Missouri, providing outpatient mental health services in private practice. As a PLPC, I practice under the order, control, oversight, and guidance of a licensed supervisor as required by Missouri regulations. My clinical supervisor is Elise Harowitz, MA, LPC, SEP, BC-DMT (License #2019029825). As required by state licensing laws, Elise will be involved in your care through oversight of treatment planning, clinical documentation, and periodic case consultation to ensure quality care and compliance with professional standards.
